Berkshire steam locomotive, No. 742 was built in 1944 by the Lima Locomotive Works, located in Lima, Ohio. One of more than twenty Berksire’s were contracted that year by the Nickel Plate Road. Pictured in this winterscape, heading toward Bellevue, Ohio, this gigantic powerhouse, muscles through the snowy evening trying to keep on schedule.
